N E W S & I N FO .April 17, 2006THE TRACII GUNS BAND: Learning Cover Songs For Upcoming TourTHE TRACII GUNS BAND, featuring Tracii Guns, Paul Black, Nickey Alexander and Jeremy Guns, are gearing up to tour the U.S. April 20 through May 20. They will be performing L.A. GUNS hits along with songs from BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION and Tracii's solo tunes, along with various covers. This is almost the entire original L.A. GUNS band reunited for the first time after their breakup nearly twenty years ago. [The original lineup was: Paul Black (vocals), Tracii Guns (guitar), Robert Stoddard (guitar), Mick Kripps (bass) and Nickey Alexander (drums).] Shortly before the band was signed to Polygram, Paul Black, Robert Stoddard and Nickey Alexander had left. Phil Lewis and other members were then brought in to form the L.A. GUNS that most fans are familiar with. Commented Guns in a posting on his web site: "Last two rehearsals startin' [Friday, April 14]. We have been learning cover songs this week. It makes rehearsal a lot of fun. So far 'Draw the Line' is the best one. We also started working on a new song last night that is really a cool vibey tune. I don't know if we will play it on this tour yet. "I moved down to Venice this weekend. What a pain in the ass, man… The cool thing is that we are 10 steps from the boardwalk, so we just walk everywhere, which is good for my fat ass. "There are a lot of great local bands supporting us on this tour. Make sure you show up early and check them out." As previously reported, Black wrote and co-wrote a large portion of what appeared on the first L.A. GUNS album, along with one track on the second release. The original versions of the songs can be found on the recently released PAUL BLACK'S L.A. GUNS "Black List" CD. The album is compiled of old recordings that had been stored away for more than ten years. For more information on PAUL BLACK'S L.A. GUNS "Black List", visit www.blackcitymusic.com.
