Mogwai Don't Know How To Feel About Album Leak

Some records end up on the internet a couple of months before their release. Others are kept in the dark until days before they're due. Mogwai's Mr. Beast, however, showed up on the web a whopping four months before it was slated to hit store shelves.

But Mogwai have no idea what to think of the event two months after the LP finally hit store shelves.

The band told Chartattack, "It does bother me but, in retrospect, we've sold more records than the last album, so has it done us harm or has it done us good?"

"Our manager wrote to us saying, 'Publicly, it's a disaster, but privately, it's a good thing.' People will get the record and there will be a buzz. I think it doesn't do us any harm, but it's impossible to tell how detrimental it is to album sales. I think for big bands, like Metallica, it doesn't help. But for small bands who get on things like MySpace, it helps them get exposure."

Sounds pretty reasonable if you ask me.
