NONPOINT Set To Shine In 'Miami Vice' The Movie

South Florida's NONPOINT and their cover of the PHIL COLLINS hit "In the Air Tonight" will serve as the featured track for four time Oscar nominee Michael Mann's big-screen adaptation of "Miami Vice". It will not only be featured in the Jamie Foxx/Colin Farrell movie but will also serve as the lead single from the "Miami Vice" soundtrack. "Miami Vice" will hit theaters on July 28 with the soundtrack's release date yet to be announced.

According to a press release, the song — which was originally featured on NONPOINT's third album, 2004's "Recoil" — will be in the movie for about six-and-a-half minutes. It will be the score for a major scene in the movie and will appear in a new trailer campaign. A video for the song will be filmed next week, and the director for the clip has already been selected.

In the meantime NONPOINT is wrapping up their tour with BUCKCHERRY and is going to be working on a live CD/DVD through July and then hitting the road again in August. Their latest album, "To the Pain", has sold over 80,000 copies through Bieler Bros. Records.
