N E W S & I N FO .July 24, 2006Band cried WolfAUSTRALIA'S hottest rock band Wolfmother is at the mercy of of the world's best pranksters this week. American actor Johnny Knoxville and his Jackass posse flew into Sydney yesterday to film the band's two Hordern Pavilion concerts. Knoxville, who most recently starred in The Dukes of Hazzard, plans to use the band's upcoming single Joker And The Thief as the theme for the next Jackass movie. The hardcore American mischief makers will play themselves as massive fans of the band in the video, which shouldn't be hard as they are actually fans. "I'm scared; I have no idea what they're going to do to us," Wolfmother's drummer Myles Heskett said. The triumphant homecoming concert last night also became a celebration of the 30th birthday of Wolfmother's frontman, Andrew Stockdale. Heskett, bassist Chris Ross and their entourage organised for Stockdale to be surprised with a cake onstage during the show and enticed the capacity crowd of more than 5000 Sydney fans to sing Happy Birthday. After the gig, the Wolfmother and Jackass lads partied with family and friends at the city's latest exclusive members-only bar, De Nom. The Joker and The Thief video will push Wolfmother further up the US charts when it is released later this year. After the band perform at this weekend's Splendour In the Grass festival in Byron Bay, they will head overseas to spend the remainder of the year performing in the US and Europe.
