N E W S & I N FO .March 10, 2010Emo vs Scene
Emo kids are different from scene kids, though it's often hard to tell them apart. For the most part, emo kids keep dark colored hair, usually black or dark brown. Though they are outgoing in their own groups, they are more shy publicly. Emo kids tend to stick with their own groups, are more artistic in nature, and enjoy the calmer things in life. Scene kids, on the other hand, are much more active. They're called so because they like to be seen and be part of the local music culture. These kids typically attend a lot of concerts. They enjoy music and being apart of the local music atmosphere. They typically support local music groups, indy bands, and a harder variety of emo music known as screamo. Like emo kids, scene kids have existed long before there was a label for them. As you can call anyone who expresses their emotions freely emo, you could also call anyone who attends lots of local bands concerts, scene. Many scene kids hate to be called emo. And in fact, many aren't emo at all, even though the fashion sense is quite similar. On the other hand, some emos are scene. What they're called really depends on which label they wish to fall under.
